Eclectic extended stay blurring the line between hotel and home in Denver’s River North Art District.
Eclectic extended stay blurring the line between hotel and home in Denver’s River North Art District.
Catbird is an artist-driven hotel shaped by the creative pulse of Denver’s RiNo district. Built around an original 1800s home, the property merges history with new construction—establishing a layered environment that feels both grounded and transformed.
The brand identity embraces duality. Bold, contrasting typestyles and a vivid palette express a playful tension between structure and spontaneity. At the center is “Klee,” a hand-drawn icon named after the modernist painter, capturing the spirit of the hotel in the form of a loose, artistic sketch.
Interior and brand expressions were developed to operate as a full ecosystem—part hotel, part neighborhood hub. The ground-floor lobby is open yet intimate, filled with books, collected objects, and quiet nooks that echo the feeling of a well-traveled home. The rooftop flips the tone, drawing inspiration from sculptural parks and Brutalist forms to create a surreal social space above the city.
